CCI Community Bank takes up the challenge described by the Governor of the Bank of England, Mervyn King:

"Is it possible that advances in technology mean that ... the world can come to resemble a pure exchange economy? Electronic transactions in real time offer that possibility. In principle, there is no reason why the private sector cannot make final settlements without the need for clearing through the central bank. (...) There is no conceptual obstacle to the idea that two people involved in a transaction can settle by transferring wealth from one electronic account to another in real time. (...) The same system could match demands and supplies of financial assets, determine prices and carry out settlements. Financial assets and real goods and services would be valued in terms of a unit of account. Final settlement could be done without recourse to the central bank. (...) Without this role in the settlements, central banks, in their current form, would no longer exist; nor does money ".

CCI Community Bank solutions for social impact
The objective of the Social Trade Organization is to provide a professional platform that can be used by different organizations and institutions that aim for social economic impact. CCI Community Bank supports a wide variety of implementations.

Banks in developing countries
CCI Community Bank enables local and regional banks to compete with large international banks, because CCI Community Bank enables them to provide cost-effective and state-of-the-art online banking, SMS banking, POS and mobile banking. This contributes to a more diverse banking sector which makes it stronger and more competitive. Regional banks are also known to invest more money in the region directly contributing to the country's economic growth rather than international speculation.

Trade-offs
Because of CCI Community Bank, bartering can be easily set up at low cost, bartering does not have to invest heavily in expensive software. Research shows that bartering can be very beneficial to a country's economy in times of capital scarcity, making countries more resilient in times of economic crisis. The reason behind this is simple. When the economy suddenly shrinks companies that still have products or services to offer, but not enough customers. Even if company A wants to buy a product from company B and company B wants to buy a product from company A, the money (or credit) to enable trade is often lacking. A barter helps these companies to trade with each other through the barter network.

What is Governance?
  • Governance is the process of interaction and decision-making among the stakeholders of a given system or organization. It is also the way rules, norms and actions are structured, sustained, regulated and upheld.
How is the CCIE Protocol governed?
  • In the context of CCIE, governance can be divided into two main parts: on-chain and off-chain.
  • CCIE token holders, who are the primary stakeholders of the system, vote using the CCIE Protocol's on-chain governance system. There are two types of votes in this system, Governance Polls and Executive Votes. Anyone who owns CCIE can participate in these votes.
  • Stakeholders participate in governance off-chain by engaging with the community and other stakeholders in places like the forums and the public governance calls. The Interim Governance Facilitator is currently tasked with several administrative duties that keep the larger community organized, proactive, aware, and ready to make decisions.
